Lavender Hill Farm

On our way up to the upper peninsula for our vacation, we made a little detour to Boyne City to check out Lavender Hill Farm. I visited a lavender farm in Niles in southwest Michigan last summer, and heard a lot of great things about this one, and had to stop by since we were so close! We ventured off, found the farm, and explored the lavender fields. It was so pretty! The lavender wasn't completely bloomed yet, and they had just planted a lot, but the blooming fields we saw were very pretty.

They also had a really cute gift shop full of everything lavender! Soaps, laundry detergent, tea, coffee, books, candles, cookies, you name it, there's a lavender version of it there. We tried some lavender tea, and ended up buying some lavender shortbread cookies (yum!) and a dried bundle of flowers for the road!

I recently picked up this breezy purple floral maxi dress from ModCloth, and knew I had to wear it to the lavender fields! It was pretty hot outside too as we roamed around, and quite muggy. The curls instantly fell from my hair the second we walked outside! After the fields though, we made the quick jaunt to Petoskey to check out Petoskey Brewing and share a plate of garlic parmesan cheese fries. Yum!

When we were heading over the Mackinac Bridge into the U.P. though, it started raining and was pretty chilly when we got up there! So I changed into jeans and a cardigan for a night of exploring Saint Ignace. I'll be back with the full post there next week after the long weekend! I hope you all have an amazing holiday! We're off to Muskegon, and back up north to Torch Lake to go camping with friends. Do you have anything planned for the 4th?
