Mission Point Lighthouse
After we did a little shopping in Traverse City, we decided to check out Old Mission peninsula for our afternoon! I knew I wanted to hit up the lighthouse first, and then make our way back and visit as many wineries as we could. We’ve been to this lighthouse before in the summer, but to be honest, I much preferred it in autumn. It was so pretty, and the water was so blue! Plus, we actually got the chance to walk up to the tower this time (so thankful they were still open this late in the season!) and we were the only ones in the lighthouse. I loved it!
For our afternoon of exploring the lighthouse and doing a little wine tasting, I changed into my new favorite jeans from Madewell. I’ve gotten lots of compliments on these! They’re just so fun. I also picked up this warm striped top from Madewell when we were in Nashville. I love the gray color, and the material is so soft and cozy! I’m excited to wear this with some cut off jean shorts come summer time.
After the lighthouse, we tried to hit up as many wineries as we could before they closed around 5pm. We visited 2 Lads Winery, Brys Estate Vineyard and Winery, Bowers Harbor Vineyards, stopped to Jolly Pumpkin Brewery for a quick brew/snack, and then hit up Chateau Grand Traverse and Bonobo Winery to end the evening. It was such a fun day. I love wine tasting! The scenic views are so pretty, and the wine is delicious. Old Mission peninsula is perfect for making your way down the winery list. We stopped to North Peak Brewing for dinner (best service!), and then headed back to our hotel to watch movies in bed. Perfect day in Traverse City!
Sunday, we headed back to Grand Rapids and woke up to snow! Our first little glimpse of winter here in Michigan. We stopped to the Flap Jack Shack for a quick breakfast, and headed home. Thanks to Traverse City for an amazing weekend! We loved our stay, trying new restaurants and wineries, checking out a few new local shops. I hope you guys enjoyed our posts! Have a great weekend!
