End of January
Can you believe we're approaching the last full week of January? I'm so excited! Like I said before, I really do love winter. But January is definitely the toughest month to get through. It's long, especially cold, too dark. February at least gives us a little bit of daylight after work and less days to push through. But as I'm currently sitting here sipping on a hazelnut coffee, putting away warm laundry, and have chili simmering on the stove... I can't help but appreciate these remaining winter days.
I'm going to try my best to pop back in here more often. Blogging just always takes a back seat this time of year. Mostly because of lack of daylight and it's freezing, but also just because I'm so focused on other things this time of year too. I've gotten a great start to the year in terms of productivity and some of our goals, and I'm excited to keep these habits up! We've really been great at budgeting this month, cooking at home more often, and limiting dining out. I also haven't spent a dime on clothes this month (even though I've been tempted many times!)
This weekend, the weather was honestly so perfect. Forties, sunshine... you could go outside in something other than your heaviest parka and winter boots! I picked up this coat from Old Navy around the holidays for $25... and it feels so fancy! It's super great quality considering what I paid for it. Unfortunately this one is mostly out of stock, but they have two other very similar coats in stock right now that I love. I'm thinking of going back and getting this gray one as soon as my spending freeze is over! I also love this pink one for spring! Perfect for those transitional days coming soon.
I've been working pretty diligently through the January Cure and our apartment is feeling SO great! I'm excited to end the month, and dump our "outbox" and get rid of a bunch of crap I've been throwing in there. Today the big assignment was to clean out the bathroom cabinet... so I got rid of so many things! Plus, just to wipe all the dust and hair out of the cupboards, ah, what a feeling. Well... I'm off! Finishing up some laundry, eating chili for dinner, watching the SAG awards (love awards season!). Have a great start to your week!
