Welcome, sunset

I absolutely love sunsets in our town. I don't know if it's because we're a beach town, right on Lake Michigan, but the color of the sky sometimes just takes my breath away! Especially if you're right down on the water. I can't wait until spring and summer to be able to head down and watch the sunset. It's such a joy after a long, harsh winter in the mitten! When I was first getting into photography, I heard a tip that it doesn't matter what camera you have, if you take your photo during sunset... it'll be gorgeous. It's so true!

I've been holding this skirt hostage (sorry, Mel!) in my closet because I honestly had no idea how to style it! I know it seems so simple... a floral skirt, but it was hard to style up! I think the length threw me off because I'm so used to styling up shorter skirts and dresses. But I really liked the way this turned out! The scalloped edges of this skirt are so darling. It's floating around to some of the girls in the Delightful Dozen, so if you follow our website, you should see some variations on how to style this skirt coming up soon!

Thank you all so much for your kind emails, tweets + notes about our kitty, Sarge! He has been eating today, has gone potty and is even playing with us a little bit! We are so excited and are so appreciative of all of the good vibes that were sent our way. Brett and I have been hugging each other all day because we're so excited he's doing so well. We know he's going to do great this week + it's such a relief. It's so funny how you live your life in this bubble.. where I just assumed Sarge would know our kids someday and how fragile things can be sometimes! We're just so thankful he's getting better and we can't wait until he's fully recovered. Thanks again, everyone! xo
