Beach rocks
Summer is one week away! I can't believe it. Spring flew by so quickly. It feels like the flowers came and went in the blink of an eye. It does that every year though, doesn't it? You wait months for it to come and then it just flashes right by you. I'm so excited for summer though and really looking forward to it. Carnivals and festivals, barbecues, camping, outings, trips, adventures, swimming. All of those words sound like music to my ears!
So, I have a really terrible secret to tell you guys. Promise you won't tell anyone, k? Okay. Well, I keep a spreadsheet of everything I buy or receive clothing or accessory-wise just to make sure I'm wearing everything on the blog that I'm supposed to... and so that I realize how terrible my shopping habits are. I always buy stuff and never wear it. Well... dun, dun, dun... I'm at 80 unworn items. Can you believe that? That's just awful. Like... I'm ashamed. 80 things I haven't worn yet. Everything from dresses, to shoes, to necklaces, rings, tights, bags... even suspenders! Excuse me while I go hang my head in shame... no more shopping for the rest of the summer!
Well, okay, I made one exception. For this necklace. I received the sweetest email from Syd. She's a fourteen year old girl who makes rock necklaces with beautiful rocks collected from the beaches of Lake Michigan. She started when she was eight years old and she planned to use the necklace money for something important. Two years later, Syd was diagnosed with Langerhan's Cell Histiocytosis (LCH), a little known disease high in need of research funding. 100% of the money of Syd Rocks necklace sales go to LCH research. For more information, you can visit her website. I love my necklace and not only is it beautiful and made from Michigan beach rocks... it supports an amazing cause.
Whelp, I feel guilty for sitting inside all day and night while it's so beautiful outside, but sometimes you just have to do what you have to do. I've been feeling overwhelmed lately... and now I'm getting a little bit caught up. My email inbox has only 5 emails in it right now. Isn't that amazing? My best friend, Jen, just moved back to Michigan from Denver and I'm so excited to go visit her tomorrow, see her new place and de-stress even more! Have a great rest of your week!
