Wealthy Theater

When I heard that one of our local theaters was playing The Exorcist the night before Halloween, I knew we had to go! That movie is seriously one of the only movies that legitimately scares me, like insanely. It's just so creepy! I was especially excited it was at the Wealthy Theatre, which is right in my neighborhood. Eric and I grabbed dinner with our friend, Laura, at the Electric Cheetah. We all got different versions of their homemade mac & cheese. Oh yum. It's been so dark, cold and gray here, so comfort food sounded amazing. Afterwards, we walked down the street to check out the movie!

I love this little theater. I've been here several times for fashion shows, one time for a Christmas burlesque show (ha!) and they play movies every Tuesday. I really need to start making it a Tuesday night tradition to go see an older movie here. The theater was introduced in 1911 for vaudeville and live theater, and later became a movie house. When vaudeville declined in the area, the doors were shut and it was used as a warehouse for an aircraft company. It opened back up in the 20s and resumed playing movies until the 60s. In the 60s, it shifted to foreign films and shut back down in the 70s. It sat decaying for 25 years until our neighborhood association launched a campaign for its restoration. It opened back up in 1998 and has been open ever since!

So I've been getting a lot of feedback from you guys lately saying you like seeing me in more of my casual outfits, so here I am! To be honest, I wear jeans quite a lot! I know that seems odd because I'm constantly in dresses and skirts on the blog, but sometimes I get the attitude like "this outfit isn't blog-worthy", you know? I'm going to start ignoring myself when I think that and take photos anyway. I've been trying to collect a few more fall/winter coats because this weather is getting colder and colder by the day! I can't believe we're only a day away from November. Time seriously flies! I'm not going to lie though - I'm a tad bit excited for winter. I'm hoping we have an insanely white Christmas. I started my winter bucket list and I'm really going to try and get out more and not let my debbie-winter-downer mood get me down!

Well, I hope you guys have a safe and happy Halloween tomorrow! I don't have huge plans other than band practice with Circle Maybe and perhaps karaoke later in the night. And those of you being affected by Sandy, stay safe and dry! I'm keeping all of my east coast friends in my thoughts. If you're interested in donating, you can go to the Red Cross website and donate $10! It goes toward disaster relief and helping those in need. See you tomorrow! xo
