A September evening
Last night, I went out for pizza and a concert. It was the best weather. I actually stowed the scarf for most of the night because it wasn't that cold. We're in that weird transitional weather though where as soon as the sun goes completely down, it's freezing. It's all about layering! I'm excited that I'm able to bring out some autumn colors now though. I always feel more natural dressing for the season... when I'm in the season. Can you believe autumn officially starts this Sunday?
When I was at this concert last night, one of the promoters announced the next act - a girl musician that I'm insanely inspired by. She's seriously dominating her genre of music in this town, is constantly playing shows, she's gorgeous, and one of the kindest people I've ever met. Anyway, all that aside. When she was announced, I saw another girl in the audience give her a thumbs down. And I just laughed. It made me feel better about anyone who doesn't like me. Here is this amazing girl about to get on stage and actually do something inspiring and productive with her life, and here's this other girl... in the crowd among the masses doing nothing but watching. It inspired me to continue to strive to be the girl on stage, not the jealous girl in the audience. All that to say, just keep doing your thing, girls.
I've been loving a couple of new albums that have come out lately. My all-time favorite band, Minus The Bear, just released an acoustic album called Acoustics II. Absinthe Party at the Fly Honey Warehouse is one of my favorite songs of my life, and there is an acoustic version on the album. It's so good and I've been listening to it on repeat, all the time. I'm also in love with Someone Still Loves You Boris Yelstin's new album, "Fly By Wire". I'd definitely recommend to check both of those albums out!
This weekend, I'm hosting an event with Wolverine for Michigan bloggers and I'm getting so excited! It's going to be really fun. I can't wait to meet everyone I've been chatting with for the past several months. Now to remember names... ah, the hardest part! Other than that, I think I might head up north to the dunes on Saturday. It's supposed to be 60-70s all weekend (the best weather ever) and so I'm just hoping to spend as much of my weekend outside as I can. Have a good one guys! xo
