Mission Point Lighthouse

While in Traverse City, Eric and I headed up Old Mission Peninsula to see the lighthouse at the tip-top called Mission Point Lighthouse. You drive along M-37, which is such a beautiful scenic route with cherry orchards and vineyards. The lighthouse was built in 1870, and decommissioned in 1933. We explored the beach for a while, but unfortunately missed the time slot to tour the inside and climb the tower. It only means we'll have to come back someday! Plus, there are lighthouse keeper programs here. I'm definitely going to do that sometime in my life. ;)
