TxSC: Day One

As most of you know already, I was in Texas last weekend for the final Texas Style Council Conference. This time, it was held at a Girl Scout Camp in Spicewood, Texas. This was my third time attending this conference, and out of all of the blogging conferences I've been to, it has always been my favorite. It's just so down-to-earth, real, and approachable. This time was especially that way, since we all headed to a camp to spend three days straight together, in our maybe not-always-so-stylish attire, in the pouring rain. I was frizzy all weekend, but I felt more connected to fellow bloggers than I ever have before.

I have three recaps on TxSC - our first day, second day, and the Jamboree "Khaki Cool" party. This was our first day at camp, and it was a field day for the speakers and sponsors to connect and have fun before everyone arrived for registration later that evening. Unfortunately, it was on and off rain all day, and some of the activities didn't totally work out, but we did a lot of walking and exploring and endless drinking of Toms Roasting Co. coffee!

I went totally casual with all of my outfits this weekend, wearing the same pair of jeans constantly, my Minnetonka moccasins, a utility jacket and basic, comfy tees. Chelsea and I quick snapped each other's outfits in front of the Ranger's House while out exploring. A lot of the girls were out doing the high-ropes course, horseback riding, ziplining, and yoga. What a totally unique concept for a conference too right? Huge thanks to Indiana (and the rest of the TxSC team) for putting this all together. I can't imagine how much work went into making this weekend what it was!

I'll chat more about the workshops + things I learned tomorrow in my other post, and I'll probably get a lil' sentimental too. I just love some of these girls that I was able to spend time with this weekend. I teared up a little bit at Jen Loves Kev's recap, when she talked about the Delightful Dozen, and how we've all been blogging alongside each other for years. Sometimes I forget how important those days really were, especially in defining my blog and who I am as a person, as cheesy as that is.

We wrapped up the night with a really fun keynote talk with Jenny of The Bloggess, and a super delicious meal. The catering was spot on this entire weekend! Plus, we had a mingle hour + hang out, and all crashed early after a busy day. More to come! xo

Thank you to Chelsea Laine Francis for some of these photos!
