Nashville: Day One
Hi friends! I apologize for the major silence on social media lately. We had a whirlwind weekend in Nashville, and then we came home to a surreal and terrible election result, and the whole time, I just felt like I was in a complete blur. I went to the doctor yesterday, and she said I appear to have vertigo (dizziness, headaches, not feeling "present", night sweats, etc.) so I've been on medication since last night and it seems to be helping a little. With everything going on right now, I just chalked it up to anxiety and feeling overwhelmed, but it was the scariest feeling. I almost felt like I was losing my mind, or I was in a weird, strange dream. Apparently it can be triggered by motion, or long rides in the car, which makes sense since we drove down to Nashville. Let's just say... I'm really excited to be home, and slowing down now. I have a lot of catching up to do, and I'm really excited to get to work. Starting with this blog post...
So last weekend, we drove on down to Nashville, Tennessee! We went with Eric's band-mates and the wives, so it was really nice to have a group of fun, amazing people to spend the weekend with. We stayed at an Airbnb in Hillsboro Village. Thankfully we were able to bring Winny down too (she's had terrible allergies the last few weeks), and the house was perfect for everyone. I loved it. I could have moved right in! Thankfully the hot weather convinced me otherwise. Truly a Michigan, four-season gal at heart. Our first night, we headed to see a few musicians and started the next day with CREMA!
CREMA was super tasty, and I loved the atmosphere. I ordered a Cuban, which was espresso with sweetened condensed milk. It was pretty good! After we had our coffee there, we went to Noshville for breakfast. I tried the breakfast bowl, which was very yummy and then we headed off to an afternoon of shopping in The Gulch. The boys played guitars at Carter Vintage Guitars, and us girls headed to a few boutiques, including Two Old Hippies.
After a little shopping, we headed over to Las Palmas for jumbo margaritas. Their frozen strawberry margarita with salt is my weakness... so delicious! Plus, we each had a taco or two to hold us over to dinner, and those were tasty as well. After margs and tacos, we headed back to the Airbnb. A couple of the boys headed off to a guitar lesson, and the rest of us freshened up to head out! We started the evening with Nashville's famous Bushwackers, and headed downtown to Broadway to do a little bit of bar hopping. Such a fun night on the town. Lots of terrible photos, videos and dancing occurred. ;)
