A Few of My Favorite Things #3

LATELY

We are currently loving this long weekend and start to the holidays. Our Thanksgiving was great. We've been rotating between our families, since it's the hardest holiday for us. Nobody wants to celebrate Thanksgiving the next day, or have two giant meals, and since our families live an hour apart, we just have to rotate. Seems only fair, right? So this year, we were at my mom's house, which was great because she's my favorite cook in the entire world. Yesterday we cut down our Christmas tree and now I've been trying to play a little catch up around the house and on the blog... which leads me to our third installment of 'a few of my favorite things'. I haven't done one since last May, so here we go! I hope you're having a great weekend! Psst... our Christmas cards are from Shutterfly!

SWEETWATERS COFFEE & TEA

During our trip to Ann Arbor last spring, we stopped by Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea for a warm beverage and a Michigan cookie. I instantly fell in love with their shop, especially because they had so many amazing Michigan items. Cookies, mugs, you name it. They recently sent me a package of goodies including this giant chocolate chip cookie, a package of their Safari Sunrise Medium Roast Coffee, along with their signature Ginger Raspberry Herbal Tea! I enjoyed everything, and these would also make wonderful gifts for the upcoming holiday. We have a lot of coffee lovers in our life, so coffee is always an easy gift.

TIMEX

Now that we're transitioning into winter, I'm loving cooler weather, chunky sweaters and a good neutral color palette in my wardrobe. Even though I'm not a huge jewelry wearer, fall and winter are the perfect time of year to start minimizing your jewelry collection to a few pieces that are versatile and easy to transition into different looks. For me, that includes a few rose gold rings, along with a tawny brown watch that matches my everyday tote perfectly. That's why I absolutely love this Timex The Fairfield Watch in rose gold, brown and white. Perfect for my winter wardrobe!

KALAMAZOO CANDLE CO.

So I actually wrote about Kalamazoo Candle Co. last spring... but now I'm excited to share their fall/winter collection with you! I found them while perusing gift shops in Rockford, and fell in love with their designs and unique scents. Started by a guy named Adam, they are a local Michigan company (handcrafted right in Kalamazoo), and their candles are made with soy wax, paper wick and dye-free, so they're about as natural as it gets. Right now I'm absolutely loving their Sugared Spruce (smells like a Christmas tree), Balsam & Cedar, and Pumpkin Patch (on sale for $8!). Right now, they're offering 30% off all candles until Monday with code Santa... so head on over! Perfect gifts for Christmas, and you can feel good about shopping small business and local!

THE 52 LISTS PROJECT

It's been a full year since I've owned Moorea Seal's The 52 Lists Project, and I have loved writing and journaling in it. I couldn't recommend it enough for the list-makers in your life (I make a million lists). It's such a good way to learn about yourself through a simple everyday task. Plus, she just released her second book called 52 Lists for Happiness, which I put on my Christmas wish list this year. As someone who is constantly working on her happiness, I feel like this is a great book to help explore and understand what that actually means to me. Right now, both books are on sale as well!

BIRCHBOX

Last but not least, I wanted to talk again about how much I love Birchbox. I absolutely love Birchbox. If you don't know what it is, it's a customized subscription beauty box you get in the mail every month for only $10. While I love trying new products, I hate committing to a full sized bottle of something, especially if I don't end up liking the product. That has happened several times, honestly. And if there is something in my Birchbox that month that I don't like, no harm done! It's a small bottle of something, and I'm not being completely wasteful. A lot of times I'll give samples to my friends, but the majority of the time, I use up everything and love everything. It's how I found and fell in love with Bumble & Bumble Thickening Spray (bang-saver), and Beauty and Protect Detangling Spray (have lost so much less hair since using this product).  I really look forward to receiving these adorable boxes each month. If you're interested in trying it (or giving it as a gift), here's my referral link!
