Taste of spring
Happy Monday! So this weekend was a total whirlwind, but on Saturday, we hit 58º in Michigan... in January! So crazy. To be honest, I loved it during the moment... but now as I'm sitting here at my desk on this terribly dreary day, I almost wish we didn't get a taste of it... because now all I want is spring. And we're still in January. It's going to be a long winter, guys. Thank goodness the groundhog comes out next week, because I really hope he says an early spring is ahead!
But yeah, we're onto the last full week of January, and I'm excited! The days are getting longer (it's getting light enough for outfit shots after work... aka, life changing!) and the blog is rampin' up a little bit for spring already. I have a couple of fun collaborations coming up (hint; Vogue & Clinique!) and I'm also starting to collaborate with Experience Grand Rapids a bit on covering some local events! I met with Stephanie, their PR manager, over tacos on Friday, and it was so fun to chat about some ideas and brainstorm fun things to come for Grand Rapids in the coming months! So stay tuned!
Speaking of Grand Rapids, I was so excited to style up this darling simple bar necklace from local jewelry designer, Marisa of Autumn Lace Jewelry. Her designs are beautifully dainty, and inspired by minimalist trends. I love that her casual personal style reflects mine. I love jewelry, but I'm not a huge jewelry wearer, and I'm so picky about what fits with my outfits. But this necklace is so pretty, and simple, and fits right into a casual ripped-jeans look like this one. Be sure to head over to her site and check out some of her designs! She's the biggest sweetheart too, and this would be a perfect way to shop local for some upcoming Valentine's Day presents!
I hope you all had an amazing weekend, and enjoyed the little taste of spring we had if you were so fortunate! This week looks busy for us, but super fun. A work outing to the movies, wine club with the girlies, and a chick flick date night planned for this weekend. I did kind of terrible with eating this past weekend (started snappin' all of my diet/fitness progress on Snapchat if you're interested!) and so I'm back on track today. January absolutely flew, and it's honestly my least favorite month of the year, so if this month flew... I can only imagine how the next few are going to go. Here's to moving forward and making progress on all the things (and longer days ahead)!
