Just outside Nashville
Hi friends! I apologize for the unintentional blog break there. Life has been busy with Halloween plans, work outings, busy schedules, and our recent trip to Nashville. But I'm finally back with a few posts from our trip! We had a great time in Tennessee. This was our fourth year in a row... and we still haven't even scratched the surface of things to do there. But, I was really excited to ditch downtown for a day, and head outside of Nashville to Franklin and Arrington. As much as I love the hustle and bustle of Broadway, I'm much more of a scenic view, small-town girl. It's so much more relaxing. So here's a little recap of our first full day.
We drove into Franklin, and headed to The Factory at Franklin. I loved it! The factory was built in 1929, and housed a stove factory, and later on a bedding company. It was renovated in 1996, but the building contains much of the original architecture and charm. While the boys headed off to Artisan Guitars, us girls walked around exploring different boutiques. I especially loved CR-71, Relek and All Things Co. We also stopped for doughnuts at Five Daughters Bakery (so much yum to their cranberry doughnut), and enjoyed a coffee outside at Honest Coffee Roasters.
After the factory, we drove into downtown Franklin to explore and walk around for a bit. Such a quaint area! It reminded me a lot of Grand Haven, Rockford, and some of our local small towns here in Michigan. We hopped into a few different boutiques, drooled over pillows in Anthropologie, and enjoyed the sunshine. It felt SO beautifully autumn with the fall foliage and leaves falling. I'd definitely love to come back here and explore a little bit more someday.
After visiting downtown Franklin, we drove into Arrington to check out Arrington Vineyards. This was one of my favorite parts of our trip. We arrived right during golden hour, so maybe that's why, but it was just so pretty and picturesque there. There's a beautiful scenic view, a vineyard, picnic tables to sit, a giant swing and delicious wines. We got inside, ordered our wine samples, and sat on the outdoor porch to enjoy. I loved their blackberry wine, and bought a bottle to take home with us! I'm a huge fan of wine tasting and wineries, so this was right up my alley. I'll be back with a couple more posts from our trip!
