Can you believe we're pretty much done with February? I'm so pumped. February is my least favorite month (second to January) but this February has just been weird. In some ways, I feel like I made progress (finding my aesthetic and personal style) and other ways I just totally tanked (eating healthy and exercising). I'll chat more about this in my small goals post coming up, but yeah. The weather was so strange this month (super warm 60º weather and then snow the next weekend) and for some reason the days just felt SO long, but somehow now we only have one day left of the month. February, you crazy.
I recently stopped to H&M to take a peek around, and was pleasantly surprised when I found they were having a huge sale on all of their winter stuff. Since it's technically still winter here in Michigan, I took advantage! I picked up this sweater (which is super cozy) for $5! Once I sort of nailed down my style vibe/color scheme, it's definitely been a bit easier to shop lately... not that I've been doing much shopping, but still. I have yet to go through my current wardrobe and put stuff away, but I'm getting there! My goal is by the arrival of spring (March 20) to have my closet nailed down, out-of-aesthetic stuff stored, and see what happens in the new season. I'm excited!
My style challenge for spring is also to start wearing more dresses again. When I started Selective Potential seven and a half years ago, I almost always wore dresses. It was actually kind of weird to see me in jeans, and nowadays, they are all I wear. I do love my jeans though, so I'm not going to cut them out completely. My goal for spring is maybe 50/50. 50% jeans... and 50% something else. Balance, right?! Plus, I'm all for embracing what I love and just staying consistent. Pretty much all I pin to my style inspiration board are looks with jeans, and that's totally okay.
I hope you guys have a great week! We're off to see The Head and The Heart tonight, and I'm so excited. I absolutely love that band. It's one of the bands I listened to nonstop with Eric when we first starting dating, so it just brings back all the feels when I listen to them now. Plus, their new album is really good. Other than that, this week is chill, and I'm looking forward to it. I sort of fell off my 5K training bandwagon, and need to pick that back up this week. I only have a little under three weeks until my 5K, so it's time to get my booty in gear! Thank you for your comments and love, always! xo
