Start of summer
Phew, the heat wave finally broke! We're back down to our normal June temperatures of 70s and 80s. I'll take it! As much as I love those hot 90º days, I just wasn't totally ready for summer yet this year. I think it just snuck up on us a little too quickly! Plus, time has just been a whirlwind. We've been going nonstop lately, and I feel like it's just going to continue that way for the next few weeks. Thankfully tonight, I was able to cook a meal at home, catch up on some laundry, knock out a few chores, and publish a blog post!
This past weekend was wonderful though. We went to brunch, did a little shopping (scored this dress at Old Navy for $10!), went to one of Eric's shows in Paw Paw, and visited with both of our dads on Father's Day. This week I'm trying to play catch up before a friend's bachelorette party this weekend, and next week is the week leading up to the 4th! EEP. It's all happening! Do you guys have any fun plans for the 4th yet? We're going on a camping trip to Torch Lake with our friends and I can't wait! This will be our third year in a row... and I just honestly love that weekend so much. I'm crazily looking forward to it.
Once Eric puts together my IKEA step ladder, I will be done with my "closet curating" project! That seriously took FOREVER. I just did a mini summer update, which feels so good. I loathed looking in my closet with all of my bulky sweaters from winter/spring still in there, and it was 90º and I was melting. So I finally moved all of those sweaters out of my closet, and into my under-bed storage bin. I promise... as soon as the ladder is set up (haha, like you guys care), I will officially do a closet post and talk about how I worked through developing my personal style and eliminating over 100 pieces!
What are you guys looking forward to this summer? We're taking it pretty easy with travel this year, since we were gone pretty much every weekend last summer (and spent way too much money). But we are taking one trip this summer, and I'm SO excited! We'll see two new lighthouses, one of them is a 30-mile round trip bike ride! I'm really looking forward to that. Otherwise, I'm just so excited to swim in Lake Michigan, watch fireworks, grill out, go camping, ride bikes, drink sangria, eat lots of vanilla soft serve cones, and take some much-needed days off. It's going to be a good one!
