Snowy stripes
Hello from the middle of a polar vortex! Okay, these photos were taken last weekend when the sun was still shining… but man, we’ve gotten some major snow here in Michigan! Definitely can’t step outside without a coat right now, so I’m bundled up indoors with a hot chai latte and my fleece-lined blanket that I carry from room to room. I’m so excited that January is nearing it’s end though. I normally don’t like to wish time away, and I do like winter, but January is just so tough to get through sometimes. February, you start to see a little more daylight, Valentine’s Day is fun, it’s a shorter month, I don’t know. It just feels a little easier for some reason. So January, thanks for the fresh start + new year’s resolutions, but I’m ready to see ya go! Byeeee.
I’m not sure if you caught this post on Instagram, but this jumpsuit was such a funny story. Just my random Friday night Target browsing while Eric had a show… buying the essentials (why do we ever go to Target for the “essentials”?!) and saw this striped jumpsuit on a mannequin and had to have it! So I grabbed an XS and it was just too small, and I knew if I had the next size up, it’d be perfect. So I asked a store employee if she could check if the mannequin was wearing a size small, and yep, sure enough! So we’re trying to get this jumpsuit off the mannequin and it was the biggest ordeal. The employee was like “this girl is getting sweatpants after this”. 😂 Thankfully the mannequin finally let go of her grip + I got to take it home! It’s super cute, and I’m excited to wear it in spring with some cute strappy sandals and a fun pair of earrings. Right now it desperately needs a coat and some boots with socks though. Haha!
Otherwise — not much else is new over here! I know I’ve slacked in January, especially on Instagram. I feel so guilty about it sometimes, but I never want to post just to post, you know? And for some (weird, no good) reason, I hate posting photos not chronologically. I have no idea why. I think it’s just this inner thing that I want my IG feed to always reflect my life currently. Why is that? And normally I’m okay with it when I can take more photos and have daylight and all the good things, but right now, I’m just cooped up inside watching Netflix, at the gym working out, or at my day job crankin’ out the designs. All the good things that I love, but sometimes not so easy to show on the blog/IG. So it is what it is! But yeah, excited for February. We’ll be finishing up baby step 3 and moving onto 3b (peep my last post if you’re curious about the baby steps), so that is super exciting. We have lots of fun plans coming up with friends, family, shows, and a possible vacation in the works — so all is good!
