End of autumn
Well just like that… autumn is done! I guess not “technically”, but I always just say goodbye in November. December to me is always holiday and winter vibes! Michigan gave us the best last week of November too — no snow, sunshine on a couple of days. On this exact day, it was mid-50s and perfect outside. We headed out to brunch and to Robinette’s to grab cider doughnuts, do a little wine tasting, and walk the trail! I don’t know why everyone doesn’t come to Robinette’s in November. There was no line, we were only one of two parties wine tasting, and it was just perfect! So my local tip to you — visit Robinette’s in November instead of October! Hahaha.
So my favorite style tip lately is… wearing cardigans as sweaters. I’m obsessed. It’s all I want to wear! I picked up this cardigan from Madewell a while ago, and have been wearing it over tops… but then I saw on Madewell’s IG that they styled it just buttoned, and I was like ooh I need to try that. I love it! It feels a little bit more ‘sexy’ than just your normal cardigan over a top. The v-neck style definitely helps! Plus, these jeans have been on repeat… along with these boots, of course. I never mind spending a little more money on pieces I know I’m going to wear over and over and over. A lot of the trendier pieces, I’ll pick up at Target or Old Navy or on super-sale with Madewell. But the classics? Ankle boots, good denim, a repeat sweater? I’m all about quality!
How was your Thanksgiving?! Ours was good! We headed to Muskegon to celebrate with my mom’s side. They lost power due to crazy winds, but she pulled it off. Thankfully they have a generator, and got the oven working, but yeah dinner was delicious and I downed pretty much an entire bottle of apple wine. 🤣 Otherwise this weekend was great. Sometimes I’ll fall into weird weekend depressions/funks, especially over a long holiday weekend with no plans, but I survived this one with zero sadness! Hahaha. I made a game plan each day with things to do so it was the perfect amount of productive/fun. But now we’re onto December and I’m so excited for all of the upcoming holiday plans! This is my last full-on autumn post; I have a couple of other posts that feel more wintry coming up, plus a post from the Christmas tree farm! Stay tuned! xo
