Local deals with DFCUPerks

So if there’s one thing you don’t know about me, I’m always on the hunt for a deal! I’m constantly looking at deals online, saving coupons and waiting for sales instead of buying full-price. I developed a lot of these habits while we were getting out of debt actually! It was a personal accomplishment to stick exactly to our budget, and to find cheaper ways to do the things we loved! I recently learned about DFCUPerks. It’s a checking account that provides you with discounts to thousands of local retailers – from restaurants, clothing retailers, health services, to auto services – you name it! Keep reading to find out more + head to their website to sign up for an account!

This post is sponsored by DFCU Financial, but all opinions are my own.

Last weekend, Eric and I were out and about running errands – plant shopping, picking up groceries, and dropping off some items to donate – and wanted a quick snack/pit stop. So I checked the DFCUPerks app and saw that Tropical Smoothie Café had a buy one/get one discount! So we ended up spending $5 on a huge smoothie, and got one for free, which was awesome! All we had to do was open the app, show the mobile coupon to the cashier, and we got the discount… and instant savings! It was a super easy process, and we cut our cost in half of what we would have spent. Plus, it was a new place we had never tried before… and I really enjoyed our experience!

If you’re interested in a checking account that provides you with local deals no matter where you are, be sure to visit http://dfcufinancial.com/perks. (Visiting a DFCU branch for more information is always an option too!) I’ll be working with DFCU more this summer on showcasing some awesome local deals! What are some of the ways you save money? Do you coupon or use an app or wait for sales? Let me know in the comments! And if you’re interested in another free way to save money, be sure to check out DFCUPerks! It’s super user-friendly and very simple to get signed up.

Just to note, there is a small fee for the account, $6/month. The savings you receive through the app pay for the account within a use or two though, so the account really pays for itself! And the more you find/use local deals, the more savings you’ll have! (Within our first time using the app, we saved $5.83 on a free smoothie alone!)
