In Bloom
Hello, May! Well, everything is in bloom. It’s magical outside. The weather finally feels like spring, the trees are all flowering, tulips are out, the pinks and whites and yellows you see out are so pretty. I love this time of year. May is one of my favorite months, definitely my favorite spring month. And I’m just happy to have something “new” even if life doesn’t really feel like it’s changing or moving toward anything “normal” yet, we’re in a new month. That’s good enough in itself, haha! But I’ve been taking mental notes on my runs of where to shoot photos, and I knew I wanted to come here to snap a few! I run this route all the time (see the bridge from my last post!) and it’s such a pretty spot with trees lining the street. Hoping to get out and see more flowers this week… it goes by too quickly!
I’ve been reaching for these jeans (whenever I wear jeans) lately. I love them. They’re just super flattering and are perfect with my sidewalk sneakers. The wide-leg trend I love doesn’t look great with sneakers (maybe I’m too short 🤷♀️)… but this look is my favorite. Skinny jeans + white sneaks with a tied top. Definitely a spring/summer go-to. But I’m still living in joggers + workout gear mostly! I just placed an order with Old Navy to get a few new sweatshirts, since I basically only had 1 or 2. And I got some new workout gear for my runs, so I’ll definitely be sure to style that set for the blog soon! Otherwise I haven’t been shopping much. I ordered a candle from Target for order pickup, lol. It felt so strange to walk into a Target. It was my first time since the whole world shut down since I’ve only been to Meijer to go grocery shopping. Such a weird time.
But yeah, onto Monday. I’m glad for a new week. This weekend wasn’t very much fun. The weather was beautiful and I love the blooms, but I just had a low weekend. But I did get out to run twice, got groceries for the next two weeks, drank some delicious honey & peach wine, took some photos, watched a few episodes of Little Fires Everywhere, and re-established my love and passion for Cooking Dash. That game is so fun! But yeah, things turned around a bit yesterday. I’m eager to rush back to normal, but I’ve definitely been evaluating what parts of normal I want to rush back to. Some parts of this quarantine I’ve loved… like crushing my fitness/health goals and budgeting. I’ve learned to be fully independent with the blog and taking photos. I truly love running my route along the Grand River now. But damn I miss my friends and family, drinks out, going to the movies, seeing a live band, future plans, a weekend trip. All things to look forward to. Hope you’re hanging in there! I’ll see ya soon. xo
