Longer days
What an amazing weekend so far! Seriously! Friday, I took the day off work to head to Chicago for an all day photo shoot. It's a secret right now, but I can't wait to show you all of the pictures and what not! It was my first time doing an all day shoot like that, with props and a stylist and a real professional photographer and videographer, and the whole day was just such an amazing experience. The people I met were some of the best and it was just a perfect day! I can't wait to tell you more about it! Afterwards, Brett and I went shopping in Chicago! We spent.. way too much money, but I have the perfect spring outfits now. I told myself I'm not allowed to wear them until spring though!
Today, I got so much done. I cleaned the apartment for a party I'm hosting tomorrow night for the Oscars! I can't wait. I paid the caterer and headed over to Brett's parents to housesit! Fed the turtle, let out the dogs, started some laundry! Then, I went home and put together like 6 outfits all hanging on hangers. I'm too excited. I haven't done that since fall! I rented Love Happens and headed down to the beach for these photos! Brett is in Grand Rapids all day for his own "photoshoot" for the band!
I'm sure you've seen this top from Shop Ruche before due to the Delightful Dozen! It's been styled already by Jenn from Sally Jane Vintage, Jen from Jen Loves Kev, Julie from Orchid Grey, Mel from Idee Geniale and Jessica from What I Wore! Next it's going to Kristin from Leproust Vintage! I LOVE how everyone has styled it so far! I'm so excited to see what the rest of the girls do with it! I found it very easy to style. It went with pretty much everything in my closet, but I decided upon one of my favorite skirts. I haven't worn it in a while, so I figured it was a good time. Love the pattern to pieces on it... and it was actually warm enough today for bare legs! Feels like spring! Also paired with my new necklace that I love! This necklace will go with everything I wear this spring!
I didn't edit anything about these photos today. Not even levels.. nothing! I took some tips from Rockie Nolan.. and she just said it's all about the time of day you shoot. To take advantage of natural light and that's just what I did! I find sometimes when I shoot too early in the day, I don't like the turnout. Now that the days are getting longer, it's easier to shoot during sunset! I'm so excited for upcoming plans I have for photo shoots. Especially come warm spring weather. Eee!
Living on Lake Michigan is a dream. I actually took off my flats and walked in the sand today. It was a little cold yet, I must admit.. but the fact that I can walk around barefoot is perfection. I took out the trash today with bare feet and the cement was so warm! Ahh, I screamed a little inside. I am officially on spring break right now! I have the entire week off to catch up on giveaways, outfit posts and blog reading! Gosh, I'm so excited.
