Fields of tulips
I've been counting the days, weeks, ahem, months... until I could go to this tulip field and take pictures with this dress. Seriously. It's been hanging in my closet all winter long just screaming for spring. I finally got all dressed up into it and as we headed to take pictures, the sky turned so dark! We walked up to the stand to get into the fields and the cute old man charged us half price, "We're supposta get a storm here, so it'll be half price!"
Walking through this place is surreal, there are over 8 million tulips of all different colors, shapes and sizes. It is breathtakingly beautiful. Especially when the sky is pitch black, the smell of rain and dirt is perfect and it's warm enough to have bare arms and run around in a field of tulips. I'm huge on atmosphere; I have been for as long as I can remember. When the timing is so picturesque such as today, it's like... ugh, perfect.
As soon as the rain started pouring down, we ran out, but I can't wait to go back. There were even more fields we hadn't yet went through, tons of roaming buffalo, a gift shop full of wooden shoes, tulip bulbs and cute Dutch gifts and memorabilia. So cute. Expect more photos from this place soon! And if you're area and you're interested, it's called Veldheer's Tulip Gardens!
As soon as I saw this tulip-print dress on ModCloth, I purchased it instantly. Good thing too because they sold out right away! I don't have many items that are blue, so this is a nice little change to my wardrobe. I think I might start buying more blue items - I love the way they look, especially when the sky is so pretty!
