Minnetonka Takes Texas
Phew! I'm back from a long weekend in Austin for the Texas Style Council Conference. It was an amazing weekend spent with some wonderful people. On Friday night, I had a really fun opportunity to host a dinner with Minnetonka Moccasin. The two gals I worked with all weekend (Hi Marit and Kalyn!) were so great to hang out with. We did a dinner and drinks at Max's Wine Dive for a small group of bloggers I truly admire!
Right before our trip, I decided to go ombre! I've been thinking about it for a long time, and never made an appointment. So I just took the plunge! I love the way it turned out. It feels so natural, which I'm super happy about. Plus, it was fun to have a change for the weekend in Austin! It was suuuper hot there (over 100!) but I somehow managed to keep my hair down for most of the events. Thank goodness they go crazy with their A/C over there!
We got to see a sneak peek at Minnetonka's Spring 2014 line! I love how they took inspiration from spring trends. The American Pie trend is my favorite, and the moccasins are adorable. There is one I love especially - it's a brownish color, with a coral lace/sole. They are so cute! I can't wait to get those next spring. Other than that, we chowed down on delicious spinach and chicken pasta, asparagus and corn, salads, and brownie desserts. Plus, wine of course! Lots and lots of wine.
I've been eyeballing a drop waist dress for forever at Madewell. It was so cute, but it had spaghetti straps and I don't do well with those. I went for a quick last minute mall trip before I left to pick up a few things, and ended up walking away with this dress (and three other things) from Forever21. I loved the geo print though, and it had the drop waist I've been wanting! Plus, I can easily see both this dress and my new Minnetonka Bandera boots transition right into autumn (which it feels like in Michigan right now compared to Austin)!
Here's the amazing group of gals/bloggers we had at the event! I was so thrilled to see some very old friends, and meet some new ones! After the dinner was done, we all walked over to the TxSC/LuLu's swap. It was a madhouse in there, but I ended up walking away with a cute top and a pair of new jeans! After the swap, a few of us went for tapas and drinks. All in all - a very successful first night in Austin. I'll be back with lots more from my trip! xo
