End of February

Onto the end of February... finally! I hate to wish time away, especially a slow season in life where you can use the weather as an excuse to stay in your pajamas and binge-watch Netflix all day, but I'm definitely ready for spring. The last couple of days it's been in the 50s, and it's honestly felt so amazing. You step outside and you're not just totally frigid to the bone. Last weekend, it was still pretty gray, but warm enough to finally shoot an outfit post without a winter jacket! I'm still gravitating toward turtlenecks and tights though, but that's what I love about transitional seasons. You can mix it up a little bit!

Winter blahs

Why am I standing in front of a dirty snow pile? Why has my hair lost its curls? Why is this outfit just "ok"? I'm going to blame all of it on the winter blahs. I know, I know... I do love winter. But when it gets to this part of the year... where it's just so gross, gray and dirty outside,  and it's dragged on for too long, that's when I'm ready to see a change. I know us Michiganders can't expect to see hints of spring until the end of March, but man I am ready! February, you were cool and all, and thanks for going by relatively quickly... but let's just speed this last week up, okay? I'm ready for March, and spring!

Winter pathway

Are you hanging in there? Surviving winter?! I'm definitely trying my best! February at least provides some relief here in Michigan with slightly longer days, prettier sunsets, and we've been blessed with a fresh blanket of white snow... which never hurts! February to me is... small hints of spring, ignoring that silly groundhog, filing our taxes, and celebrating Valentine's Day. Eric and I have grand plans tomorrow of homemade cauliflower crust heart-shaped pizzas with ice-cream sundaes. I already celebrated with my gals for Galentine's Day with fancy drinks and dinner out on Saturday, which was so much fun! What are you doing to celebrate?

jb and me x Free People

Hi friends! Happy February! I'm teaming up with local boutique, jb and me, to showcase their latest Free People Spring Collection which launches today in their Grand Rapids location! They are also offering 15% off in store all day long, so if you're local, be sure to pop over there! I loved styling some of these pieces! Some of the items aren't ones I would have picked up myself, but it's always fun to step outside the box and try something new! The ivory cardigan + jeans were my favorite though. So fun for spring/summer transitional looks... which are coming soon!

Stay cozy

Starry nights, peeling paint, vintage keepsakes, imperfections, labors of love, and early mornings. Doesn't that just sound like a brand you want to shop from?! I recently fell in love with Kin Ship Goods after getting the opportunity to collaborate with them on styling three different outfits for this post! Their brand to me instantly felt like something you'd wear on an adventure... or if you love adventures, and you guys know, I'm all about adventures. Read on to see how I styled a few of my favorite pieces from their shop!

End of January

Can you believe we're approaching the last full week of January? I'm so excited! Like I said before, I really do love winter. But January is definitely the toughest month to get through. It's long, especially cold, too dark. February at least gives us a little bit of daylight after work and less days to push through. But as I'm currently sitting here sipping on a hazelnut coffee, putting away warm laundry, and have chili simmering on the stove... I can't help but appreciate these remaining winter days.
