Winter blahs
Why am I standing in front of a dirty snow pile? Why has my hair lost its curls? Why is this outfit just "ok"? I'm going to blame all of it on the winter blahs. I know, I know... I do love winter. But when it gets to this part of the year... where it's just so gross, gray and dirty outside, and it's dragged on for too long, that's when I'm ready to see a change. I know us Michiganders can't expect to see hints of spring until the end of March, but man I am ready! February, you were cool and all, and thanks for going by relatively quickly... but let's just speed this last week up, okay? I'm ready for March, and spring!
So yeah, I don't know... I loved this outfit in theory, and I love all of the pieces individually. But for some reason, it just didn't become my favorite outfit when I put it all together. I think maybe the gray cardigan and the black/white top doesn't mix well. And for some reason, these pants just look so much better with other shoes. The leather ankle boots and these jeans just didn't do it for me, but I wore black ankle boots with these jeans before and it was fine! Maybe I really am just so sick of boots in general, and I'm just taking my angst out on this specific pair, who knows. I'm just ready for flats and mules and cute wedges!
But yeah, not much is new. I'm just ready for spring (or at least some sunshine and warmer temps which I see on the forecast for this week... thank goodness!). I'm also ready to wear all my new spring clothes. I'm excited for a new season, and a little bit of a change. I'm ready for some spring cleaning, to put away the bulky winter coats and boots, to mop up the salt stains in our apartment permanently. I'm excited for it all! I just need to be patient and enjoy these final few weeks of winter. Focus on movie nights in, crock-pot meals, cozy socks and pajamas, a relatively wide open calendar, and slower days. Things I love about winter to pull me through until spring finally hits! Hope you're surviving it all too... or that you live somewhere warm and are already experiencing hints of spring!
