A couple of weekends ago, I had the amazing opportunity to go on a northern Michigan road trip with Pure Michigan up to Bellaire and Alpena!
Read MoreOnto part 2 of our weekend in Bloomington, Indiana! It was great to have a full day to explore the city… and we were blessed with amazing autumn weather. So we started the day with a light brunch at La Vie en Rose, which is a charming and authentic French cafe, specializing in French pastries and quiches, baked in house daily. We parked right out front, were quickly seated inside their cute cafe, and enjoyed lattes, quiches (leek & bacon was so good!) and split a butter-sugar crepe, which was my favorite. After brunch, we left the car parked there and decided to explore Bloomington by scooter!

Read MoreI’m excited to blog about our trip to Bloomington, Indiana! As you all know, I love exploring Michigan… and I’m really excited to be getting out of the state to explore more of the midwest. Definitely a midwest fan over here! Bloomington, included. It was such a fun weekend. The town is small enough to get a good sense of in a long weekend, but also big enough to provide so many different adventures and options of places to eat, drink, and see. We followed a fun scavenger hunt from Visit Bloomington and tried to knock as much as we could off the list… but didn’t even make it close to half way! Looks like we’ll have to schedule another trip there soon!

Read MoreOnto my last post from our trip to Springfield, Ohio! So I wanted to do an entire blog post on where we stayed… because it was wonderful. I loved it! We were able to stay in one of the treehouses at the historic Simon Kenton Inn. For a little history, Simon Kenton was a U.S. frontiersman and a soldier. He served the United States in the Revolution, the Northwest Indian War and the War of 1812. The land was deeded to him by the U.S. government. Simon’s cabin was built adjacent to where the old Spring House still stands and a historical marker is all that remains today. These grounds have so much history, charm, and character to them. We loved exploring the inn, and we were lucky enough to stay in one of the newest additions to the property — their luxury treehouses!

Read MoreOnto our first full day in Springfield, Ohio! We packed this day to the brim from morning to night… so I have lots of fun recommendations if you’re planning a visit to the city. But it felt like a good, slow, relaxing day too. We kicked off the day with coffee and a small breakfast at Un Mundo Cafe! When we got downtown and parked, we realized the cafe was right next to their farmer’s market. They have over 35 vendors, with live music, food trucks and fun all in the North Market Alley adjacent to the Heritage Center. Un Mundo Cafe is right on that little corner, so we snuck in for a coffee (soy chai for me, of course) and a lemon poppyseed muffin before making our way over to the Heritage Center for a morning of exploring!

Read MoreGreetings from Springfield, Ohio! I’m moving into a few posts from our trip there a few weeks ago. I love Springfield. It’s definitely a small town, and to be honest, I probably wouldn’t have heard of it if they hadn’t invited me on a press trip last year… but after our second weekend in the city, I can confirm that we’ve had two really great weekends there. It almost feels like home in a little way now. 🤣 What’s fun too is… this weekend felt like a totally different trip than our weekend there last year! We went back to a few favorite places, but did a lot of new things, explored new areas, and stayed in a super fun treehouse! I’ll be blogging all about our trip, but to kick it off, let’s start with our first night there! A stop to the Greetings from Springfield mural, which is brand new!
