Sunset on Sugarloaf

Before COVID season hit, I at least made it up to Sugarloaf to watch the sunset. It was such a pretty walk too, quite a few people out. I was the only one at the top for a while until it was right at peak sunset and all of a sudden, it got busy! But yeah, a worthy hike in all seasons.

Eagle River

Railroad in Channing

I make the drive from Marquette to Iron Mountain often, because one of my best friends lives there. About halfway from Marquette to Iron Mountain is a little town called Channing. Blink and you’ll miss it, but it has this cute historic railroad station… and these train-cars filled with logs!

Dead River Falls

One of my favorite adventures in Marquette is to Dead River Falls! It’s a super quick and easy drive from downtown Marquette (about 14 minutes) and only 7 minutes from our local Target, haha! If you’re looking to get to this waterfall… Google Maps will take you right there. Also be sure to check out Reany Falls on your way in or out too!

Golden hour is always magical up on Mount Marquette. I get sentimental here, because I can look at so many landmarks and reminisce on the memories I’ve had in this town.
