Fall Saturdays

Is there anything better than a warm Saturday in October? I think not. We had such a great day! Eric played shows in southern Michigan all weekend, so I took advantage of the day we had together and decided to head out and pick out pumpkins and mums for the season. First, we grabbed brunch at Wolfgang's, which was delicious. After that, we made the drive out to West Olive to visit my favorite farm market, Green Acres. We took the back roads the entire way, and the colors were so pretty! Michigan is so close to peak color right now... I love it! I'm hoping we can get out for another fall drive sometime very soon.

We picked up four pumpkins for our porch, and two mums. You can see our completed porch here on Instagram. I love it! I smile every time I walk into the front door now. We also picked up a gallon of fresh apple cider (a must in the fridge this time of year) and a super yummy caramel apple that we shared. As we were leaving though, I just felt a little sad. I always look forward to this time of year, and time just goes so quickly! I just need to embrace every second we have left, that's for sure.

On our way home, we stopped by this field to snap a few photos, which is perfectly autumn in color right now. So pretty. I recently picked up a few new plaids and sweaters to get me through the season, including this top. It's been nice to invest in pieces I know won't ever go out of style (at least in my book), so I'll always have them as long as they hold up. Plus, trying to build more of a cohesive wardrobe for each season makes remixing items so much easier. We got home, and then I had a girl's night dancing at Stella's, which was so much fun. I'm crazily excited for the end of the month... I cannot wait to dance at one of my favorite Halloween parties. I also need to watch Hocus Pocus, The Haunted Mansion (I know, I know) and squeeze in a scary movie somewhere too. I just LOVE this month. October, never end!

I hope you have a great week planned! Monday kind of kicked my butt, so we're off to burger night at The Winchester with friends. I need a glass of wine, that's for sure. But this week looks fun. I have a work outing on Wednesday, Wine Club on Thursday, and this weekend is jam-packed again. I'll also be heading to Owosso on Saturday to attend the Michigan Blogger Mixer at Foster Coffee Company. I'm excited to see some familiar faces, and meet a few bloggers I've been reading for a while now! If you're going, let me know!
