Last Gasp of Winter
Phew, it looks like winter is having one last "gasp" here in Michigan! Last week, we received a ton of snow. Most of it has melted already, but it was so pretty when it was here. It was the heavy snow that just clung to every branch of every tree. Eric and I had to stop and snap a few pictures on our way to Waterloo, Wisconsin to visit my friend for the weekend. I know I've been wearing jeans pretty much nonstop lately, but this was just the perfect road trip outfit. Comfy and cozy!
Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures in Wisconsin! We got to Waterloo right around sunset on Friday, and stayed in for the night watching movies and ordering takeout with our friends, Jen & Ryan. I got to play with their three-year-old daughter, Stella, and she was just so adorable and fun to be around though! I got to read her a bedtime story, and I pretended to close my eyes for a minute with her and I peeked my left eye open, and she was like, "Okay, we're done now." Hahaha! I couldn't stop laughing. She was the cutest.
On Saturday, we headed into Wisconsin Dells to spend the day at Kalahari Resort. It was a blast, and so refreshing to just spend the day in warm temperatures, in my bathing suit, floating down the lazy river. I loved it. Saturday night, we ordered pizza in and watched Tommy Boy and all pretty much crashed on the sofa. Eric and I were going to head into Madison on Sunday to explore, but we decided to just head home so we could catch all of the Oscars. It was such a great weekend though. Next time I visit Jen, I'll definitely bring out my camera! Wisconsin is a fun state. I'd love to go back and ride the Wisconsin Ducks!
