Autumn corn fields
Hi friends! Long time, no see. I apologize for the unintentional blog break! I feel like the last month has just flown by. We're already into October, and I'm still not sure what happened to September! To be honest though, not much is new since I saw you last. Work has been busy, we had the craziest temperatures in the 90s for a couple of weeks (I couldn't deal!), I attended a couple of local events for the blog (a fun clothing swap and a Meet Cute styling event), had a Wine Club, and went to a music festival Eric played at. We haven't really dived into autumn yet, since the weather was seriously so weird, but we're getting there now! So far, I checked off "pick up pumpkins" and "decorate fall porch for autumn" off my October bucket list. The best month of the year is here! I'm so thrilled, but I can already tell it's going to fly by.
What is on your list for October? Mine always look generally the same: go to the pumpkin patch, go to an apple orchard, drink a pumpkin spice latte, drink a hot apple cider, eat a warm cider doughnut, watch Halloween movies, watch a spooky movie, decorate our apartment for fall, rake leaves, take an autumn walk, take a fall color tour somewhere up north, make or buy costumes, dance with friends over Halloween weekend. A few of my serious goals are to... continue to work out 4x a week (I've been on a streak since the middle of July!), publish at least 12 posts here on Selective Potential, and pay off one pesky credit card after my car needed some major repairs this month. Boo.
We're also headed up to Tahquamenon Falls in the upper peninsula this month! I'm so excited; I haven't been there in years. I just remember how amazing it smelled up there, and how beautiful it was! Plus, I've never been there in autumn, so I'm hoping the fall foliage surrounding the falls is just as I'm imagining it. We're seeing both the upper and lower falls, renting a boat to explore, heading to the shipwreck museum, three different lighthouses, and trying to see as many fall colors as possible! If you have any recommendations or tips for the area, let me know! Brown Fisheries Fish House is already on our list!
Alright... off again! I'm three episodes away from finishing the entire series of Gilmore Girls, which is crazy! I've been binging on it all summer... so many episodes! But it's so good. I just love it. I think after this, I'm going to take a break from TV shows and try to catch up on some movies, especially around the Halloween season. But I'll be looking for another show to watch in the winter, so if you have any good Netflix or HBO recommendations, let me know! I'll also be back a lot more this month with tons of autumn content, so stay tuned, and thanks as always for reading and sticking around!
