September florals
Happy September, friends! I'm so excited for the new month... and the first month of autumn! Even though it's not technically autumn yet, it sure feels like it here in Michigan. Today was 65º, I had goosebumps in this dress and totally could have used a cardigan, and our heat kicked on for the first time of the season! I know, I'm sort of crazy to be this excited about summer ending (I truly do love summer), but I love autumn 10x more and it's so much shorter than the other seasons. So if we don't start it now, we get it cut short when it snows in late November/December. So autumn for me... is now! Give me all the apple and pumpkin spice everything!
I picked up this adorable floral sleeved dress from my visit to Madewell a couple of weeks ago. I was on the hunt for a black floral dress, and this one fits beautifully! It requires a bit of static guard though, so beware if you're planning on purchasing! I also picked up these Loft block heels last spring, but never really wore them this summer! They definitely will fit with my autumn wardrobe a bit better. Last weekend, I did my big closet overhaul and moved all of my spring/summer stuff into storage... and pulled out all of my autumn/winter stuff! So much burnt orange, cranberry, and olive green in my closet right now. I'm so excited! Autumn style is the best!
I made an autumn cheat sheet of all the things I want to do, cook, eat, see, and focus on! Since this season always flies by the fastest for me, I want to make sure I'm prepared! I want to pick pumpkins from the pumpkin patch, visit an apple orchard, try a new apple recipe, drink a hot apple cider, drink a pumpkin spice latte, light a pumpkin candle, have an autumn picnic outside, visit a spooky or haunted place, visit a Halloween store, plan Halloween costumes, watch Halloween movies, enjoy our cider Wine Club, and pass out candy to the trick-or-treaters. Plus, we're taking a long weekend trip to Tahquamenon Falls for a fall color tour and I'm so excited! Also a little nervous, because our autumn is supposed to peak a little early this year, so hopefully we still get to see a lot of color when we head up north!
Well I hope you guys have a great rest of your week! Even though it's only a four-day week, it feels like it's sort of dragging on for some reason. I'm definitely ready for another weekend! We have a lot of plans coming up - quite a few shows for Eric, his birthday, the upcoming Lee & Birch fashion show (which is sold out!), a trip to visit a cider mill, and a few fun collaborations coming up! I'm excited for it all, but also just sort of waiting for October; aka; the month that dreams are made of. I'm hoping to post a bit more this month too, so stay tuned! I have a few new purchases I've made recently, so I really need to get my butt in gear before they go out of stock (like these shoes!) See you guys soon! xo
