Blue jean baby
Onto a new month! May is by far my favorite spring month. Mostly because of the tulips… but it’s going to be even better this year because spring is JUST starting to bloom here in Michigan. That also means I need to get my butt into gear to take more photos. I’ve been struggling with the blog and ‘gram lately. I think I’ve just realized more and more as I’ve continued this blog (almost 9 years!) is that I need it to fit into my daily life, not the other way around. I just need to take photos of where we’re at, wherever we go, even if it’s not that exciting. Because honestly, who’s life is exciting all the time? I think bloggers just feel this pressure to have everything beautifully curated and well-lit, and damn it’s hard sometimes! My life is so messy and hardworking right now, but I love it, so I need to blog more about that, and take some of the pressure off of it! So I’m going to try and push myself a bit more to open up and stop being so scared of posting something that’s not "perfect". Because that’s just silly. Nobody is perfect.
So Eric and I snapped these photos quick after devouring a delicious meal at New Holland! The weather has been life-changing. I know that sounds so dramatic, but April was so brutal with snow for most of the month and that ice-storm that just pushed me over the edge. I was so over it! I’d literally walk down the street scowling at people with my winter hat, gloves, and fur-lined parka hood pulled over my head. Hahaha. So to say I’m in a better mood now is an understatement! Spring is finally here! And our calendar is getting BUSY. I’m really excited and happy for it. After a pretty low-key and boring winter, I’m ready for fun plans, trips and travels, shows, and more time with friends and family!
I’ve been all about DENIM lately. It’s so funny because I used to only wear dresses or skirts on the blog. It was rare I ever wore jeans… for years! Now they are all I wear! I’ve always loved jeans, but again, the pressure to be a blogger. I used to buy so many things that I’d literally only wear on the internet. (Jeffrey Campbell Litas, anyone?) So maybe my style is boring now, but it’s totally honest and I everything I wear here is what I actually wear in real life. Grocery shopping, movies with friends, taking Winny for a walk. So yeah, a little more boring, but a lot more practical, comfortable and real. Alright — I’m off to enjoy the beautiful weather and sunshine! See you guys soon! xo
