Good Day Café
Phew! So much has happened in the last couple of weeks... but I still have one more post from our super short trip to Mackinac Island from last weekend. On Friday morning (after Eric's gig), we woke up and headed down to Good Day Cafe to grab iced lattes. This place is super cute! I think it's pretty new on the island (I haven't seen it before). I loved it. Very Instagram-worthy, their iced lattes were delicious, and they had a ton of different pastries, ice-cream, smoothies and more. I'll definitely stop back here on our next trip to Mackinac Island (which is coming up this weekend!)
After grabbing some coffees, we walked down Main Street to a resort where they provide the band with a yummy breakfast buffet. So we enjoyed that, walked back and hung out at the hotel for a minute before packing up the band gear and heading back to the mainland. Like I said, super quick trip this time... but I'm so excited to head back and spend more time up there! This summer's travels have been SO fun, but I'm completely out of my normal routine right now. I haven't been hitting my goal of exercise 4x a week, and my diet has been {so} bad, BUT I know this isn't permanent and I just need to enjoy this season of life. I just struggle with letting go of my achiever mindset sometimes, but I just need to remember I'll be back to the normal routine on Monday... so just enjoy this time off while you have it!
For the morning we were on Mackinac, it was actually pretty chilly for summer (think 60º) so I wore my cardigan during coffee, but took it off after we were walking on the island a little bit. I'm so glad I brought it though, because brrr! You don't expect it after having crazy 90º+ days, but you just never know with Michigan. It can be HOT and then rain and be cold. All in the same day! Haha. We've been having some crazy hot days lately, but it looks like it's going to be in the high 70's when we're back on the island... which is perfect. Do you have any fun Mackinac Island recommendations for when we go back? We're kayaking out to the lighthouse, but other than that... we have no plans!
It's been good to get caught up a little bit today at work, to enjoy some air conditioning, to publish this post, but it's strange to come into work for one day out of the entire week. Haha! Tonight we're headed off for fireworks at Eric's parent's house... and then it's onto the long 4th of July weekend! I'll work to get blogging as much as possible, but be sure to follow along on Instagram for more up-to-date content. Plus, I have some really fun IG stories I'll be sharing soon from our time in Torch Lake and Traverse City! Have a great holiday weekend!
