The Christmas tree farm
Phew! I’m a little behind here… but hoping to catch up before the holidays! So a few weeks ago, we headed out to our annual Christmas Tree Farm day! This is one of my favorite days of the year. We always go on Black Friday, which is nice, because most other people are out crazily shopping! We head into Rockford, stop for breakfast at The Peppermill Grill, stroll a few of the shops in their cute downtown area, do a little wine/cider tasting at Kayla Rae Cellars, and then head out to Hart Christmas Tree Farm to chop down our tree! It’s always just so fun! Afterwards, we head back into Rockford to grab a late lunch/dinner at Corner Bar of chili cheese dogs — and head home to watch holiday movies and decorate! I love traditions so much! I’d relive this day over and over if I could… which I do, I guess! 😆🌲
We had pretty mild weather this weekend… no snow yet, so I was able to wear my lighter Madewell anorak coat I picked up at Nordstrom Rack. This exact one is sold out, but they have a similar one on their website! If you don’t follow me on IG, you should head over — I’m hosting a $200 giveaway with a few other amazing Madewell-loving ladies. It ends on 12/18 at 11:59p EST and the winner will be announced on Thursday 12/19! It’s easy to enter, and if you like my style, you’ll definitely like the other girl’s styles that are participating! Plus $200 to Madewell — yayyy! I’ve definitely done a little damage there lately, haha. They’ve just had so many good sales! Right now is 30% off everything — use code “OHWOW”!
Otherwise — life has been really good lately! I just love the holiday season. Plus, I’m in a great routine right now with cooking meals at home, staying on top of my to-do list, knocking out holiday shopping/wrapping, working out 4x a week right now, keeping up on chores and cleaning the apartment. I told myself I wanted to focus and work really hard the first two weeks of December so that I can fully relax and enjoy the last two weeks… which starts today! We have some really fun plans, a full day in Frankenmuth, parties with friends, holidays with family. I’m going to just enjoy, relax, take a little time off from being “#3 achiever Tieka” to finish up 2019 and then I’ll go into 2020 with all the goals. But for now — it’s all fun fun fun! I’ll be back before Christmas! xo
