Buddy's Ice Cream
Two more posts from Santa Rosa Beach, Florida! The first full day we were there, we laid out by the pool and beach (and got maybe a little too much sun!) so the next day when everyone else was heading back to the pool, Eric and I decided to walk into town, do a little shopping, and grab some ice-cream! I loved that we were easily able to walk from our cottage to the little strip of cute shops, artsy shacks and of course… ice cream! Buddy’s Ice Cream was just down the street from us, which was awesome… and a little dangerous! We went on one of our first nights and it was crazy busy, but during the day it wasn’t too bad! We loaded up on strawberry cheesecake ice-cream. Yum!
I’ve been wanting a cute denim button up dress for a while, but wasn’t sure how often I’d wear it, so I didn’t want to splurge on one. So when I spotted this one on H&M, I went for it! It’s super cute, but honestly a little tricky when it’s hot outside because it just doesn’t breathe very well. But it’s adorable, and I’m excited to style it up more this summer! But yeah, with the sun and warm days and HUMIDITY (oh my gosh, Floridians, how do you deal?!) I tucked my hair into a top knot most days and only tried to curl it for the evenings. Otherwise, there is no way my waves would last all day! Michigan has humidity, and there are some pretty bad days in the summer, but it felt like every day we were in Florida, my hair was so “Monica in Barbados”. 😂 (Friends reference, if you don’t know what I’m talking about.)
This vacation definitely gave me a little taste and glimpse of summer! I’m so excited it’s only just BEGINNING in Michigan! We never take a week off during spring break, so it was wonderful to escape the wintry weather for a change! Even if we did come back to snow, haha. But we’ve just had such a brutal winter this year! Normally I don’t mind winter THAT much (it gets to me a little bit in late February/early March), but when it lasts well into late April — AGH! But I’m really excited for spring here at home — everything is in bloom. Summer is always so much fun here. We already have a pretty busy and hectic season planned!
