Kalamazoo River
Hi there! So one more post from our little trip to Saugatuck — the Kalamazoo River, which goes right through downtown Saugatuck. Eric’s band played at Wick’s Park, which is right across the street from this view and the chain ferry… so it’s such a fun location. We had a little bit of time downtown before his gig, so we did some wine tasting at Crane’s, and then ran across the street to snap a few pictures before enjoying pizza, drinks and dancing all night at Wick’s! It was a great night; I’d love to go back to Saugatuck again soon and explore a bit more. It’s such a quaint beach town! I’m always a bit nostalgic for towns like this though after living in Grand Haven for a few years. I always miss being near the beach!
So not much is new — this weekend was good. I stayed in on Friday night while Eric headed north to a music festival he was playing. He wasn’t playing until Saturday, so I decided to just have a night to myself before heading up there! Drank wine, ate frozen taquitos, deep-cleaned the bathroom, watched a tear-jerker on HBO, you know, the usual things I do when I’m home alone. 🤣 To be honest, I’m having some summertime sadness and I’m sort of ready to move onto the next thing… the next season. Summer was fun for a bit while it lasted, but I don’t know right now. I need a change. Thankfully the next two weeks are short for us, and we’re headed up north to the upper peninsula. Somehow crossing the Mackinac Bridge always makes me feel alive; so I’m just really ready to take a pause, a long weekend. I’m seeing five new lighthouses I’ve never seen before and I’m just hoping it helps my heart a little bit. Alright, on that bummer note, I’m off! Haha. I’ll be back with some fun posts from our trip to Ohio this week. 😊
