Kalamazoo Replica Lighthouse
A few weekends ago, I went to go and see the Kalamazoo Replica Lighthouse! I’m surprised I’ve never seen this one before, because it’s so close to home, but I actually didn’t really know about it until just a couple years ago! So there’s a little bit of history here with this lighthouse… the first one was built in 1839, but was quickly moved/replaced due to erosion. So a new one was erected in 1859 on a sand dune, but unfortunately was destroyed in a tornado in 1956. So this is actually a replica of the 1859 lighthouse. While the original lighthouse was a buff color with white trimmings, this lighthouse is red and white! I always love a red and white lighthouse; they make for the prettiest photos! It was fun to be able to see this one. I always love the feeling of walking up to a new lighthouse for the first time. ❤️
I wore my little H&M bib overall dress for my lighthouse adventure! This dress has been one of my favorites this summer. It’s just so easy to wear — no styling required. Just pair with a cute pair of sandals, a woven tote, maybe some fun earrings — done! It’s still in stock, and I’ll definitely be wearing this number through autumn with cozy cardigans and ankle boots. I’m slowly getting my closet ready for autumn… but definitely not my mindset yet! Still hanging onto summer. But I did list a bunch of things on my Poshmark in an attempt to clear out a little bit of space, so be sure to head over to see if anything catches your eye!
Otherwise — not much else is new! August has honestly flown by, but sometimes the days just feel so long. But I’m definitely loving these end-of-summer vibes. The days end a little earlier, the nights are cooler! I love being able to wear jeans or a denim jacket in the evening without roasting my ass off, haha. I have a bit more summer left through — a music festival, and I’m headed up to the Upper Peninsula for a long weekend! I’m also headed back over to Ohio for another blog collaboration, and then September looks jam-packed with fun too. So all is good! How are you enjoying the last of your summer?
I have a few more posts to catch up on before I can move into my Lakeside, Ohio content! So I’ll be blogging all about that trip next week before I head off on a long holiday weekend!
