Lexington & Bridge

Happy April! March was an insane month. I can’t even believe how it started to how it ended, and everything that happened in between. It’s crazy to think about. Life can change so fast. But I’m so glad to be onto a new month… April showers bring May flowers! So yeah, after really struggling the first two weeks of quarantine, I am now fully embedded into a routine. I read something yesterday that routines are as effective as therapy sessions or antidepressants (don’t ditch your therapist or meds tho!) and I honestly believe it right now. My routine is SAVING me, haha. I just have it in my head that I’m hustling toward a goal of May. Right now I’m just 100% focused on myself… staying as busy as I can while working-from-home, eating super healthy, cooking meals, working out 4x a week, taking my own photos, blogging, keeping up the gram, cleaning and organizing, and having time at the end of the night to relax, drink wine, watch a show, look through photo albums, or whatever. I honestly weirdly feel okay right now, haha.

So yeah! I mentioned it on IG, but I’ve been doing a monthly capsule wardrobe of ~30 items. I just wrapped up March, but it was kind of funny because I literally lived in joggers the last two weeks, haha. But I did switch over to a new capsule in April, so I’ll blog those outfits this month. I love having a simpler wardrobe… it makes it so much easier to plan outfits, and to keep organized. I’ve been using my Cladwell app every day, even if I do just track a simple tee and joggers! It helps me see what I’m wearing and not wearing. But I ran out last week Friday to snap these photos. Found this cute lil’ grungy area on Bridge Street & Lexington. I set up my tripod and got all situated, only to look up and see two guys just sitting on a balcony staring at me the whole time, lol. Whatever. Hopefully I gave them some quarantine entertainment.

I hope you are all hanging in there! Anything you’re doing right now that’s giving you peace during this time? I think… for me, just focusing on what I can do in the present to make me happier in the future when all of this is over, you know? Working on my health and fitness. Working hard to be very smart with my finances. Continuing to save money and ramp up my emergency fund, stay debt-free, and spend intentionally. (Speaking of which, I did just buy a new pair of Madewell jeans because they are having $75 off jeans right now which is nuts!) But yeah, otherwise, I haven’t been dining out very often except to support a local restaurant here and there. Groceries are fully stocked until the middle of the month. I’m just picturing this next month like a movie montage where the girl is like focused on her shit, hahaha. What song would be playing? Hmm. Maybe Lou Gramm — Angel With A Dirty Face? I’m all about those 80s rock jams right now; giving me lifeeeee. Hang in there! We’re in this together!
