Tracks along Seward
Well… here we are. It feels like summer (and a big season of life) is wrapping up. Labor Day is right around the corner, nights are getting darker earlier, the weather is cooling down a bit, it just feels like we’re approaching that transitional phase where summer slowly turns into fall. I had to take photos here on the railroad tracks, because it’s the end of a pretty meaningful phase for me, of time I’ve spent on the west side. Railroad tracks symbolizes a journey in life, and it’s kind of funny they’re a symbol in mine, of places I’ve lived that meant a lot to me for different reasons. I find myself hearing the train go by all the time, the horns blaring, wheels screeching, and it just feels like such a familiar sound. It’s the end of one chapter, and the beginning of the next. I’m excited (and nervous) for September. If you didn’t see my announcement on Instagram, I’m taking a trip/move up to Marquette (in the upper peninsula) for a month. Crazy, right? 2020 is strange, but also just very special and life-changing.
Well, this is just my everyday average go-to outfit. Hahaha. I’m the most boring fashion blogger right now; I know. I hope at least I can inspire you guys to dress comfortably, in items that make you feel good, that you can adventure around in, or even lounge around in. I’m just very much into my jeans, comfortable flat sandals, wrap tanks/tops, always paired with a tote and some eclectic earrings. I’ve been working with capsule wardrobes every month for a while, and I love it, but I definitely need to add in a few more ‘fun’ pieces to spice up some outfits. But autumn is always a way more fun time for me to get dressed, and I’m excited to see what my MQT style will be with lots of small hikes, time spent by Lake Superior and outside in nature, layering up in fall gear. I’ve picked up a few new things (see what I’m shopping here on my closet Pinterest board).
Are you guys excited that summer is winding down… and are you looking forward to fall? I’m still trying to soak up as much of summer as possible while it’s here. I have a tubing trip coming up with friends, Labor Day weekend is always a last summer “hurrah”, going to try and get to the beach to watch a few more sunsets, get a few more patio drinks in, etc. I’m working on planning a fun blog collaboration/trip right now with Pure Michigan — woo! Dream collab, lol. And things are good, new, and exciting. I always welcome change, but I also love my routine and life. But I have to keep pushing myself forward, and making decisions, even if they’re not perfect. That’s all you can do, right? Massive imperfect steps toward your goals. 🙌🏻 Well I’ll be back after a crazy week! As always, follow along on IG and I’ll be blogging lots more this fall with fun adventures in Michigan and hopefully more exciting outfits. 😂 Love you all, thanks for sticking around, as always!
