Gobbler's Knob

Hi! So a few weeks ago, I ventured out to Big Bay… to golden hour at Gobbler’s Knob! It’s more commonly known as Thomas Rock Scenic Overlook these days. I heard a tip from a local though there’s an even better spot across the street from this one, so I’ll have to check that out next time. But yeah, this spot is one of my favorites in autumn! I just love Big Bay in general, I find myself driving over there quite often. It’s about ~30 minutes from Marquette and has so many of my favorite things… a beautiful lighthouse, waterfalls, overlooks, a small-town Yooper bar, lots of history, you name it. You can read all about my day in Big Bay from last year here at this blog post!

Well autumn is still in full swing! Normally by this time of year I’d say the leaves would be dropped, but we still have so much color UP here in the Upper Peninsula. I was just downstate in Grand Rapids for the weekend, and the leaves are just turning there it feels like. Such a weird, late season this year! I’m not complaining… I will hold onto autumn forever & ever & ever, but it is strange. I’m hoping to get out for a few more adventures this week before daylight savings ends this weekend. But yeah, I’m back in Marquette for round XIII! No major plans for this month as of right now, just hoping to get an overnight trip in somewhere, more autumn funs, and just to get back on track with a good routine… running, cooking at home, etc. Ready to embrace the slowness of November! 🍂
