In the sunflowers
Whoa… it’s the end of summer already! Honestly, this season flew by, but it was also so jam-packed. I’m very exhausted and spinning and ready for autumn and for life to slow down. I feel like this happens every summer with any Michigander… you jam-pack everything into 3 months and then you’re ready to hibernate. But anyway! Recently I took a weeknight adventure in the UP to Hall Farms to see their sunflower field… which is the most magical sunflower field I’ve ever seen. I went last year, but it was just past peak, so I knew this year… I needed to pounce as soon as I heard it was ready. And that’s what I did! I got a little lost due to road construction/not having service out there, but made it just in time for that late golden hour light. So beautiful. 🌻
The sunflowers only last a couple of weeks… so if you ever want to plan a trip here, make sure you jump when you hear the flowers are in bloom. Hall Farms does a good job of keeping their Facebook page updated. We’ve had really wonderful UP weather the last several weeks… so I’ve been able to bust out my favorite Madewell overall shorts lots! I’ve worn these a lot to the beach, just with a swimsuit underneath too. I ended up just buying the long pants version of them too… so I can continue this style through fall/winter. Overalls for the win! Otherwise, I’m ready to jump into autumn style. Summer has always been one of my least favorite times to get dressed/get creative, so I’m hoping to ramp up a few more outfit posts this next season!
Otherwise — not a ton new, other than just trying to come up for air after a busy summer! I had lots of visitors the last few weeks, which I absolutely love showing my friends & fam around my favorite town. MQT XX was literally my favorite season, by far. So much good happened after some hardships. But yeah, not a ton of traveling/trips for fall planned. I still have a lot of content/TikToks I want to create around my summer. I have a few day things planned though — always want to get out to Lake of the Clouds during fall, but otherwise I’m sticking close to home. Excited for a season of slow! 🍂
