Date with the Boardwalk

Tonight, Brett and I took a walk down to Rosy Mound beach for a "date on the boardwalk". It's such a hike down to the water! You trek through major stairs and tons of forest before finally hitting the shoreline. We were walking through the trails and it felt like you were in a rainforest! It rained all day today, so I was really excited when it cleared up tonight so we could head down there. The beach is so pretty after a good rainfall and the water is always like bath water. Brett and I both wanted to dive in tonight!

It was just a relaxing night taking a walk down to the boardwalk and watching the waves roll on shore. Of course, we played in the water and threw sand at each other too! Work has been kind of stressful lately because we're going through interviews right now, so it was a really great night to just hang out with Brett. Afterwards, we got lemon ice with fruit and sat up on our roof watching the pink sunset fade. Gosh, I love summer! (And him!)

This little nautical striped dress was perfect for a simple night on the boardwalk. The only thing I would have changed is that I would have ditched my belt and stuck with the little sash that the dress came with. A belt is a major sweat trap, especially when it is so muggy and humid here in Michigan! I cannot keep my hair straight for longer than a day. It's been so hot here!

Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday! We have a simple weekend planned with family and what not. It's Brett's mom's birthday tomorrow (Happy almost birthday, Colleen!) and we're going to hang out with them. Saturday, I'm hoping to take a tubing trip down the river! I'll be sure to bring my camera! I'm sorry if I'm so behind on comments; I'm still getting caught up from last week! Have a wonderful weekend!
