The new year
January sunshine in Michigan is a rare sight, but we've been seeing quite a bit of it this month! It makes me so happy. It's crazy what a little bit of sunlight will do for your mood. I honestly can't complain about this mild winter, but I'm also very much looking forward to spring. I'm glad I set so many goals for winter though because I need time to accomplish them, so it gives me a reason to enjoy winter almost. I love running at the gym and looking outside at the snow and gray skies... and thinking to myself, when all of this is melted and it's warm outside, you'll have accomplished the goals you set for yourself. It's super motivating!
I really loved this weekend. It was the perfect mixture of going out and laying low. Friday night, Eric and I went out with our good friends to dinner and dancing at a local country bar. We had a blast. On Saturday, we met up with my parents for lunch, ran a few errands and met up with our friends again for dinner and a movie. Sunday, I got caught up on so much around the apartment, ran 1.75 miles (wee!), did laundry, and relaxed. Perfect weekend. I'm really itching to take a trip though soon! I usually never take long weekends in winter, but I really should. There are so many pretty photos yet to be taken this season!
I've been pinning all sorts of looks with hot pink lips lately. So when I was at Target shopping alone (dangerous, I know!) I spotted this color from Maybelline. I love their lip colors. This color is so bright and exactly what I've been looking for! If you're wondering, it's called Fuchsia Fever. I wore this out on New Year's Eve too. I thought it especially went well with a more urban outfit. I love this chevron dress from Ruche. I have one pretty similar, but this one is actually a decent length for me to wear to work. I'm excited to style this up again in spring with no tights!
