Sweet Mellisa's Cupcakes
Things are about to get really sweet on the blog in the next week! So, of course I had to start with some cupcakes! They are the best kind of sweets. In Grand Rapids, we're really lucky to have a local cupcake shop that sells the yummiest cupcakes, ice cream and coffees. It's called Sweet Mellisa's Cupcakes. Eric and I stopped by this afternoon and tried it for the first time. I had a red velvet one... and oh my gosh. It was literally the best red velvet cupcake I've ever had. I let Eric take a bite and he instantly said, "You need to take this away or else you're not going to have a cupcake anymore." Haha! Seriously, that good. If you're in the area, check it out! We met the owner today and he was so nice and really awesome to chat with.
I absolutely love this blush slip from Free People! They have the most romantic pieces. Plus, they put together a little short film just in time for Valentine’s Day. It's starring Christopher Abbott of the TV show, Girls. The film brings to life the story that takes place in their latest catalog, which came out on February 4th. It's titled Roshambo and the film is the first installment in a series that will launch throughout the year. I watched through it three times today... it's so good. Be sure to watch it. It's such a lovely and romantic film.
It's so nice getting the chance to wear a bit of color in the dead of winter! Plus, we had some sunshine today! I know I said I'm not a huge fan of neon, but I'm definitely a fan of pastels. Mint green, blush pink, mustard, oh yeah. I love it. Anything that makes me blend right into a field of flowers or a cupcake shop, count me in! I found this cupcake ring a few years back on this miniature food to wear and collect etsy shop. Everything is so adorable! Next I think I need to get that donut ring. And I also adore this chevron necklace from Fawn & Rose. See? Told you I'm trying to step up my jewelry game!
Well tomorrow I'm off on my NYFW adventure! Eric and I are headed to Chicago to stay overnight and we'll be flying out on Friday morning. I just got a surge of NYFW show invites and I literally screamed in the car - I was so excited. I cannot stress enough how much I never take any of this for granted, ever. I'm so fortunate and feel so insanely blessed to have had the opportunities I've had. I just also want to say a HUGE thank you to Hanes Hosiery for making it possible that I attend! It's going to be an insanely whirlwind weekend, but I'm crazily looking forward to it. I'll be sharing my entire experience on my blog (and Twitter, Facebook, Vine and Instagram!) Also next week I have some fun Valentine's Day posts. It's going to be a good (and busy!) month here on SP! I'm excited!
