Summer night in Saugatuck
So I could seriously relive this weekend over and over. It was such a good summer weekend, consisting of all the drinking on outdoor patios, cooking delicious breakfasts at home, watching funny movies on Netflix, quality time with friends, with a dash of productivity… got all of my runs in, grocery shopping done, laundry caught up. And then on Saturday, I was like… adventure time. So yeah, headed down to southwest Michigan to do a little wine tasting. Went to Lemon Creek Winery & Round Barn. They were both so awesome, everyone was wearing masks and being respectful. Round Barn was my favorite… they had boozy slushies, and they were SO good. I had their frosé and mango one, ugh. In love. After that, headed back up to Saugatuck, had dinner at The Southerner, watched the sunset at Oval Beach and got soft-serve ice-cream on the way home in Byron Center. Like 🙌🏻. Perfect day.
I recently picked up a few new goodies from Madewell! They were having a 30% off sale, and I had a $25 birthday coupon to use up. So I got this ruffle sweater tank on sale… it’s so cute! I love the ruffle detail; it adds a little something to an otherwise casual top. And this olivey green color has been one of my faves for the last few seasons. These gold arch earrings are my favorite though and I was able to use my credit to get these almost half off. They’re so lightweight, and they’re made by a smaller jewelry designer sold through Madewell. I wore them all day long easily! I don’t really love jewelry a ton (or accessories for that matter) but fun and eclectic earrings are my jammmm.
Summer is going by quickly, compared to spring, that’s for sure. I’m still training for my 10-mi race, even if it doesn’t end up happening! I can always run it on that day anyway. It’s been keeping me motivated though. I’ve been getting out 4x a week, and I love it. Running has just been suuuch a huge stress-reliever. It gives me a ton of confidence, I love rockin’ out to my classic rock jams when I’m out there, it’s just… such a big and important part of my life right now. But yeah, still on the WW train… maintaining, which is awesome! But yeah, no major plans coming up other than small gatherings with close friends, enjoying this weather, drinking on patios and being outdoors as much as possible, and looking forward to 34 at the end of the month. It’s kind of crazy to think I’m heading into my mid-30s. 😬 But dang I love my thirties!
